As I enter my final month of the semester at RIT, I’ve been reflecting on what it’s meant to facilitate the RIT 365 course—an experiential learning space designed to help first-year students grow both personally and professionally.
This spring, I worked with around 50 students—a smaller group than the 150+ students I coached last fall, but equally impactful in its own way. We explored self-management, sustainability, AI literacy, teamwork, and reflective practices. But the most meaningful part? Watching students go from “I’m not sure I belong here” to “I know what I want to try next.”
Coaching reminded me that growth doesn’t always happen loudly. Sometimes, it’s in the quiet “aha” moments, the thoughtful pauses, or the simple courage to reflect honestly.
As educators, mentors, or even peers—we don't always need to provide answers. Sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do is hold space for others to figure things out at their own pace.
As I wrap up RIT and continue teaching at IBTE, I carry these stories—and the quiet growth behind them—with me.
What’s one moment—big or small—that shifted how you see your own learning or growth?
