This week marks the end of the semester at RIT, and with it, the closing of another meaningful chapter teaching RIT 365.

While every class has its own rhythm, this group brought something I deeply appreciate: honesty. They showed up with questions, hesitation, humor, and curiosity—everything you hope for when creating a space for real reflection. We explored everything from critical thinking to communication, values to sustainability. But what I’ll remember most are the moments in between—the quiet breakthroughs, the spontaneous discussions, the willingness to look inward.

I’ve always believed that teaching isn’t just about delivering content—it’s about making room for growth. And this semester reminded me why I love being part of that process.

To my students: thank you for showing up fully. To my fellow educators: we do more than we think. And to myself: keep creating spaces where people feel safe to learn, reflect, and try again.

What’s something you’ve learned recently that surprised you—either as a student or a teacher?
